I posted a picture of G onto my GAPS facebook board yesterday. The main reason was I was probably looking for reassurance, even though I know facebook should be a place I go to get verified. These moms have been there done that, so I thought I'd see what they had to say. Anyway, I posted a picture of his little broken out face, and basically wanted to know if anyone else had used Neocate, and if it caused more damage to the gut. I got an overwhelming amount of responses.
Someone saw the picture and said his cheeks looked like SIBO. I had never heard of it, but did a little research. Sure enough, I definitely think I have an overgrowth of bacteria! I was coming to the realization that myself due to my current health problems, but I realized that I had symptoms of SIBO for a long time.
The biggest symptom that made me realize I was suffering was when I read a single sentence. It basically said it isn't uncommon for people with bacteria overgrowth to be a size zero when they wake up and by the end of the day, they look 6 months pregnant. This is me to a T. I can have the flattest stomach when I wake up and be so bloated by the end of the day it hurts.
I first noticed this when I was in middle school. At that time, I thought it was just a weird thing- like being double jointed. When I got older, I attributed it to my period. Some days- okay, most days- of my cycle I was this way. Then I'd have maybe 2 days a month where I could wake up skinny and go to bed skinny. The rest of the time, I'd wake up feeling skinny and go to bed with a hard belly that I couldn't suck in. Then, when G started to show symptoms of being allergic to foods, I noticed the more foods I cut out, the less bloated I felt. Until yesterday, I just thought I was more sensitive to foods than I originally thought.
Now I'm convinced I suffer from SIBO, so now I plan on eating Low FODMAPS while on GAPS.

New Chiropractor- Interesting Finds
Today we went to see a new chiropractor. My original intentions were to have NAET performed on G. However, at our consultation, she ended up just looking at me. We both agreed that mother and child were very much connected, and an upset in me causes an upset in baby.
She first checked my posture and then had me lie down. She poked and prodded some, and asked me questions as I winced when she poked certain areas.
At the end of her examination, she told me that my colon (large intestines) was very (inflamed?)- I think was the word she used. She said it was leaking toxins into my body, which were going to Graham. She told me to avoid all sugar (which I had) and limit my carbs until we can get some enzymes for me. I'll be eating GAPS with low FODMAPS.
My gallbladder and spleen were also imbalanced. In addition to something with my thyroid.
She obviously knew what she was talking about, but it was another language to me. So our next plan of action is to bring in the supplements that we are currently taking and do a muscle test to see if they are compatible for my body. From there, we'll look at enzymes and do some work on G and me.
What I find really odd about this experience is these were the exact same readings that my ZYTO scan showed up when I had that test ran a few weeks ago. I think I'm becoming a believer. :)
